The pub was once a well-known pit stop for crusader knights. The Lost Caves are renowned for serving aromatic gin and tonics, but also have an extensive choice of beer and wine. Beneath the pub, cave cellars root deep into the sandstone cliff and, like many of Nottinghams 800+ caves, have for centuries been used for storage of ale. The rooms are beautiful and the breakfast was very tasty. Pop into one of the oldest inns in England, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem - at the foot of Nottingham Castle. We stayed the night before and night of the wedding. Overall there was actually too much food during the wedding breakfast and for the buffet, which meant that sadly quite a lot of food went to waste (we asked if we could take any of the buffet food home but were not allowed due to health and safety) which was upsetting. The only small area of improvement would be the amount of food. Enjoy a quiet drink, with chilled out music in bar setting like something you only ever read about. This unique bar is set in an underground cave, a perfect cosy. Had I researched the hotel and realised the pub that is. The Lost Caves One of Nottinghams most unique drinking expeirences. Or visit The Lost Caves, nestled underneath our Mercure Nottingham City Centre George Hotel. Visit this spot and discover that the decor is fine. Professional service is a strong point that plays a great role for the success of this place. Many people note that the staff is cool at this place. We had so many compliments on the venue from our guests. If night life, hustle and bustle, loud pubs and rowdy guests is Okay with you, then this hotel is fine. The cozy atmosphere of Lost Caves allows visitors to relax after a hard working day. The grand ballroom and champagne lounge were stunning rooms. Sam was so helpful with helping us to book rooms and with the organising on the day, alongside other lovely staff members! We had an amazing day! From booking, the wedding team were brilliant with their communication and answering questions that we had. We had our wedding at Colwick Hall on 9/4/22.
