5/6/2023 0 Comments Iphone split screenThough not in full-fledged form, there is a way to take some slice out of split view. Aside from boosting your productivity, it would light up the way you use your smartphone. Yeah, using two apps simultaneously on iPhone would be really cool. Wouldn’t it be nice, if you could use Split View on your iPhone as well? Unfortunately, this excellent multitasking feature is designed only for iPad. You can check out your Instagram feed while browsing the web and enjoy a fun-loving YouTube video while making a note. They may well be usability nightmares, but boy they are fun.Killing two birds with one stone is the main aspect of Split View. If anything Apple was late to the big phone game. In fact, other than Amazon no one is really making Android tablets at all. If you look at Android today no one else is making a small tablet outside of Amazon’s smaller Fire devices, to which the best selling point is their price. The iPad Mini was larger than the other 7in competitors in terms of usual screen by a third, making it ~50% of the current iPad screen size, which worked Ok. Regarding the tablet size, while Jobs was blustering a bit (he wasnt denying the iPad Mini was in the works, but he certainly was leaving reports with the impression they weren’t), the larger quote nailed it in that the first generation competitors were not great due to the screen size among other compromises they were making. So haha, about Apple having a stylus, but it ain’t the same. The Apple Pencil is a great addition for drawing applications, even if it is inspired by what Microsoft was doing in the Surface line (or perhaps the Galaxy line), but none of those devices are the primary interaction method. Apple’s introduction of the capacitive model was 100% right to the point that Google’s nascent Android project immediately paused to incorporate the modern screen and just a few years later, no one was introducing resistive screen devices other than Nintendo with the 3DS and Wii U lines. Resistive styluses (styli?) used in Blackberries and other devices of that era did stink and if you lost the stylus, finger interaction was rough if it worked at all (and I lost more than a few). Its like, Bruh please.Ĭlick to shrink.Except those aren’t the quotes and they aren’t in context. Like, thats how people feel when Apple does something later than others but says shit like "Yeah well when we do it, we do it RIGHT, and it just WORKS!". Like, how hard would you have rolled your eyes if when Samsung hypocritically removed their headphone jacks they said: "Well we are removing it now because its finally ready for prime time, and we are going to remove the jack the RIGHT way." People don't really like that smug shit if you just turn around and do the same thing later. Same with Samsung and their shit with the headphone jack ads, then removing it from their phones. When their competition is doing something different, only to later dance across stage with their big ass iPhone Max that shit sorta rubs some people the wrong way. I had respect for Steve Jobs because when they added pulling down the notifications shade from the top like Android he just straight up said "Yep just like Android". They just do their shows and announce the new feature typically to much fanfare to the viewers and even the press even though its existed elsewhere for a long time. I dont think they have ever said they created the feature, Thats an exaggeration.
